The topic for Illustration Friday this week is SECRET. I liked the composition of this woman peeking secretively through a door. Nearly ruined the drawing at the end by trying to colour in the door. Works much better with just the white all around. So I did what anyone would do -- cut, cut with utility knife and glued onto another piece of bristol. Good as new. Shhh...
Pen and ink.
Very good interpretation of Secret! Great job!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteGood call, on the door! This is a fabulous illustration of the concept--and fabulous composition--perfectly balanced for suspense.
ReplyDeleteThis is a really great Illo. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely!. I always say there are no mistakes in art, only opportunities. I think you handled the door beautifully.
ReplyDeleteCoreopsis, Michele, Sally, thank you for your feedback. This is the fun part when you meet the deadline -- meeting fellow artists, and one fellow planner (that's my sometimes day job, Michele).
ReplyDeleteWonderful job! Really cool idea with the composition.
ReplyDeleteThat's some amazing control on the ink washes! I love the details on those fingers!
ReplyDeleteFantastic. Love it.
ReplyDeleteCindy, Etudesque, Helena, thank you my cheerleaders. If we don't get paid well, at least we get each others' support ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is my worst fear to ruin a painting at the end. Yikes. But kudos for the cut out!
